my friend Dan pointed something interesting out at the forum, and why I think this may be their most appropriate artwork yet -
- “This label was used from the introduction of the Red Seal LP in 1950 through the latter part of 1954.”
This album artwork is a trbute to the original seal and record albums that began in the 50s, which I think represents The Strokes’ intention of having a more retro sound with Comedown Machine. I love their minimalist, subtle approach to this cover.

Just for clarification…
For all the anons and others that aren’t believing the new song is actually The Strokes, it’s confirmed that it is. Whether you like it or not, it’s still officially their new single. Although it is definitely different, I can’t deny that I like it, but it will have to grow on me.
