Anonymous asked: Any idea where to get the Strokes Live in Paris 2002 audio bootleg? I've looked and I can't seem to find it. I'll be grateful for any help!

I’m not a great bootlegs person, so I had to turn to the wise Janie (she asked me to refer to her as the firey ice goddess from the darkest layer of hell) who uploaded it here!

There’s also a 2005 Paris bootleg that can be downloaded here

Anonymous asked: In your links for videos there's one for Warren Fu's You Only Live Once, but it's blocked, is there anywhere else I can find that? And there's one "Call Me Back (Unofficial Albert Hammond, Jr. version)" which links to Heart in a Cage, where can I find that? Thanks! :)

Ugh, aren’t country restrictions the worst? This is the only link I have for the alternate video of YOLO, but the download link for it in this post still works! Ditto for Call Me Back :)

OK, guys, so that’s the end of the home videos. They’re short silly little things, but I hope you enjoyed them. They can all be found on our still-pretty-new YouTube channel (along with a bunch of playlists of interviews, live shows, etc uploaded by other users), or under the “website” tag on this blog, along with a bunch of photos from the old website that aren’t seen too often.

If you’re interested in downloading all of the files you’ve seen us upload in recent weeks and more, you can download the whole old website rip HERE courtesy of shim-elyasmine. The video files are in their original aggravating .swf format (which can be most easily viewed by opening them in a web browser like Chrome or Firefox), but there’s just a huge goldmine of photos in there as well that are more easy to access and can be fun to flick through. Enjoy!

The Strokes—Under Cover of Darkness

This happened a year ago today and it’s still one of my favorite things that band has ever done. I also count hearing it premiere on radio one of my favorite moments of 2011.

I actually recorded and uploaded the whole Zane Lowe premiere show here, including the cool Strokes medley at the beginning if anyone’s curious about that. It’s long, but I might listen to it again later.

Anonymous asked: Do you have the My Drive Thru download?

I actually didn’t have it myself, which I found surprising because I quite like the song. Research tells me it was a free download originally, though it’s no longer available on the Converse website, but I Googled and found it HERE!

(That’s not our link, just FYI)

Anonymous asked: Is there a video somewhere of that performance of The Strokes, where Julian is barefoot and they are outside? I can't find it. I think it was on french tv show or something.

That would be Le Grand Journal, from this year, which you can download from this page HERE :)

scarlota asked: Can you make another zip file but of just the Is This It Home recording? That's the only song of the playlist that isn't working.

Ooh, sorry about that! I just looked, and the reason that one might not be working is because I actually got that one off iTunes years and years ago, back when iTunes was DRM protected. There’s not much I can really do about that one, I’m sorry. I’m a bit surprised that’s where I got it, because iTunes usually sucks for B-sides etc. But you can still download it on iTunes! (That’s a link to the US store, I don’t know about other countries’ availability).

Sorry for misleading everyone on that one. You can also get Alone Together (Home Recording) on iTunes, which I didn’t know. I usually don’t put things you can pay for up for download, so that’s my fault.
