This is actually NOT The Strokes…Richard Priest confirmed it on Twitter (question posed to him here) and apparently the guy that made it and posted it on Soundcloud admitted to it as well.

The Strokes | Trying Your Luck (This Life) BBC Sessions
Listening to this session for the first time in years and I completely forgot that Chris Martin was on the radio show when some of these were aired and cracked up at his small, dorky contribution here. The way he says Julian’s name with so much wonder, he totally get it.
#i bet he checks FYTS on a regular basis
Reblogging this here for the great, early version of Trying Your Luck/This Life, for Jade’s tag, and for the fact that this involves Chris Martin and I’m a huge Coldplay fan as well. This was probably the first time he heard The Strokes as well, and he’s a very, very big fan of them now.
I’m 99% sure that this interview was conducted on February 28, 2001, long before the release of Is This It. I’m close to getting my hands on the full interview to see if there’s any more talk about The Strokes.

Clear Skies // The Strokes
this will pass, this will pass…..
Someday (demo) - The Strokes
oh you will be mine, just not all the time
Obstinate—The Strokes (demo of “In Transit” by Albert Hammond Jr)
ALBERT is actually singing in this one.
Song of the Day
I was just sitting there
Dime in hand
I will be the one
And it’s so easy darling,
Please take off and I’ll be safeHe’s all alone outside
And if you try too hard then you got to let go
I had it all worked out
And in the end I’ll still be aloneIn your eyes
And it is no big surprise…..Elephant Song (Albert and Julian 1999 Home Demo) by The Strokes
It’s Not my Place (The Ramones cover) - The Strokes
